Does the Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen come in AWD?
You may recall that recently the Jetta Sportwagen has been replaced by a similar model called the Golf Sportwagen. If you’re a fan of the current Golf Sportwagen, you might have a few questions in mind when considering the model. For example, Does the Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen come in AWD? All-wheel drive is a capability that a lot of us look for in a vehicle here in the Pittsburgh area where winters can be quite harsh. As for whether you can get it on a Golf Sportwagen, well… We’ve got good news, and bad news that’ll only turn into good news:
Okay, the bad news first: There is not an all-wheel drive Golf Sportwagen here at our dealership that you can drive home today. Nowhere in our entire inventory. That said, some news has emerged by way of Volkswagen’s presence at the New York International Auto Show that we think will make the disappointed among us very happy… it’s only a matter of time – and not very much of it! – before an all-wheel drive Golf Sportwagen is available.
It’s called the Golf Sportwagen Alltrack, and it’s being made in response to a large number of dealers and customers who want to see this happen: Everything you love about the Golf Sportwagen, an advanced all-wheel drive system, and a few other extra enhancements to make it even more worth the short wait. Now about that…
When is the Golf Sportwagen Alltrack going to be made available at dealerships? According to Volkswagen in a recent press release, the new Sportwagen will all-wheel drive will be made available to customers in 2016 as a 2017 model. So it’s not tomorrow, but it’s relatively soon!
